About Diaper Spot

Parents helping parents find dignified changing spaces.

Diaper Spot started as a living spreadsheet shared by a handful of tired parents. Today it is a community-built map that surfaces trustworthy restrooms, shares candid reviews, and nudges public spaces to do better.

Our mission

Make diaper changes predictable, private, and safe everywhere families go.

Our purpose

Give caregivers real-time, trustworthy intel so errands, appointments, road trips, and adventures feel achievable — not anxiety-inducing. We believe parents deserve tools that remove friction from daily life, not add to it.

Our why

Because participating in everyday life should not require guessing where your child can be safely cared for. Every verified restroom is a small act of accessibility. Every added spot is one less moment of panic for a parent in need.

Our Values

  • Community First
    • DiaperSpot is built with real input from real families. Caregivers add locations, rate restrooms, and help keep the map accurate and honest.
  • Radical Transparency
    • Parents need the truth, not marketing. Listings show what is actually available — including when facilities are limited or missing entirely.
  • Accessibility Everywhere
    • Changing stations are not a luxury. They are a basic necessity for families participating in public life. We advocate for businesses, parks, and public spaces to meet that standard.
  • Local Roots, Broad Impact
    • We start in the Pacific Northwest, but the mission is universal: make the world easier for parents, one verified changing station at a time.

About the founders

Co-founders

Chris and Rachel Benjamin

Parents, builders, and problem-solvers. After countless errands, trips, and late-night outings that ended in frantic searches for a safe changing space, they realized the real problem was not parenting — it was information. If families knew where dignified changing stations existed, the stress would disappear. So they built DiaperSpot What began as a simple parent-to-parent resource is now a growing public-good project shaped by families, advocates, and community partners committed to making the world easier for caregivers.

Special thanks

To every parent who submitted a spot, shared feedback, reported an issue, or encouraged a local business to install a changing station: DiaperSpot exists because of you. And to the communities and local agencies helping us expand verified locations across the Pacific Northwest — we’re grateful for your partnership.
