This Privacy Policy describes how DiaperSpot handles your information in accordance with Washington State privacy expectations and U.S. federal guidelines, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not intend to collect information from children under 13.
1. Overview
- DiaperSpot ("we," "us," or "our") helps families in Washington State find welcoming changing stations and parent amenities. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website, mobile experiences, or related services.
2. Information We Collect
- Contact details you voluntarily provide, such as an email address when submitting feedback or creating an account.
- Usage information, including pages visited, device details, approximate location (such as a city-level estimate derived from IP or map requests), and diagnostic data used to keep the service reliable.
- Content you contribute, such as spot submissions, ratings, or free-form feedback.
- Optional device location when you tap "Use my location." This is used to show nearby spots and is not stored as a persistent record of where you've been. Map and hosting providers may still receive standard request data (such as IP address) and may infer approximate location from it.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided data may contact us to request deletion.
3. How We Use Information
- Deliver, maintain, and improve DiaperSpot's mapping, search, and discovery tools.
- Review feedback and spot submissions for trust and safety purposes.
- Communicate with you about updates, moderation activity, or support requests.
- Comply with Washington State and U.S. legal obligations, including responding to lawful requests.
4. Sharing & Disclosure
- We only share personal information with service providers who help us operate DiaperSpot (for example, cloud hosting and analytics partners) and who are bound by appropriate confidentiality obligations.
- We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the safety of our users, or to enforce our terms.
- If DiaperSpot is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to this Privacy Policy.
- We do not sell personal information.
5. Cookies & Tracking
- DiaperSpot uses cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences (such as dark/light mode), keep you signed in, and measure feature usage.
- Analytics are optional. You can enable or disable analytics at any time in Settings, and you can clear analytics data stored on your device.
- We may use analytics tools to understand product usage and improve the experience. Today this includes aggregate, non-sale measurement of visits and feature usage. In the future we may use tools such as Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity; if enabled, they may collect usage events and device/connection information.
- You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not function properly if you disable cookies entirely.
6. Data Retention
- We retain account and submission records for as long as necessary to support the service or as required by law.
- Feedback records kept for operational review include the privacy-policy version and acknowledgement timestamp you provide when submitting.
7. Your Rights
- Washington residents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information by contacting us at privacy@diaperspot.com.
- You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time. Critical trust-and-safety notices will continue to be delivered.

- We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and auditing, to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to notify us of any suspected vulnerabilities.
